Fonterra in Indonesia

Established in 1999, Fonterra Brands Indonesia is among the fastest growing operating companies, and is one of Asia’s top markets for Fonterra.

Our dairy products offer Indonesian consumers high quality nutritional solutions for every stage of life.

Our flagship brand, Anlene, is specially formulated for adults to help them achieve and maintain optimal bone health and is also clinically proven to prevent osteoporosis. Anlene is our market leader in the Adult Dairy category and Indonesia is Fonterra’s largest consumer market for Anlene worldwide.

Our Anmum brands are designed to deliver high quality milk formulas to boost the health of pre- and post-natal women and babies while Anchor Boneeto’s range of powdered and UHT milks are formulated with nutrients for kids to grow big and strong.

Our Foodservices business provides a wide range of products covering creams, butter and cheese to the bakery, hotel, restaurant, catering and quick service food industries throughout the country.

Anchor – Proven Nutrition
Specialising in nutrition for the whole family, Anchor’s nutritional credentials are provided by the Anchor Institute, an international network of dairy and nutrition experts that conducts and supports dairy nutrition research to improve the health of families around the world.

Anlene – Expert in Bone Nutrition

Born in Asia in 1991, Anlene is now the market-leading brand in the fight against the crippling disease of osteoporosis, and is the only milk drink clinically proven to reduce bone loss. Anlene’s mission is to raise awareness of osteoporosis so people can take steps to prevent it through better nutrition and exercise. Anlene has conducted around three million free bone scans in Indonesia and has partnered with the Indonesian Osteoporosis Association (PEROSI) to help raise awareness of bone health.

Backed by US$50 million of bone health research, Anlene is complete with essential nutrients such as calcium (more than in regular fresh milk), milk protein, vitamin D, magnesium and zinc. Anlene’s range of products includes milk-powder, liquid milk (UHT and pasteurised), yoghurt, soy milk and malted powder.

Anmum

Anmum offers a full range of dairy products to meet the nutritional needs of mothers and babies. While the woman is pregnant, breastfeeding, or looking for nutritional options for her baby or young child, Anmum offers a high quality option. Backed by rigorous scientific research, Anmum products are formulated with essential nutrients such as Folate, Gangliosides (GA), Sialic Acid (SA), Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA), Essential Fatty Acids (EFA) and Iron, which are all scientifically proven to play a role in the brain development of infants and children.

Anmum Materna is specially formulated for pregnant women. It has been clinically proven to increase folate levels in women of childbearing age to levels that would decrease the risk of bearing a child with a neural tube defect (NTD). It is low in fat and lactose, high in calcium and iron to meet the extra requirements for these nutrients during pregnancy.

Foodservices
Fonterra's foodservices team is committed to working behind the scenes when people eat out, working with chefs and caterers to create solutions, tailored products and innovations in taste and experience.
We provide foodservice operators in Indonesia with a range of branded dairy products, as well as core dairy ingredients, including ready-to-serve creams, ready-to-serve beverages, butter, yoghurt, milk, cheese, ice cream, desserts and pre-proofed frozen pastry.
With our expertise in dairy, we are able to meet the vast range of the needs of caterers, commercial kitchens, hotels, restaurants, chefs, quick service restaurants and cafés in Indonesia.

Our Operations
Fonterra Brands Indonesia is a leading dairy company that employs over 150 permanent staff and over 1,300 outsourced employees. All our products are manufactured with base milk products that are sourced out of Fonterra in New Zealand.

We partner with third party contract manufacturers that meet Fonterra’s strict quality assurance guidelines in blending and packing our products for the Indonesian market.

We also work with a large number of distribution parties to make our products available to over 60,000 outlets countrywide. In addition, we have close working relationships with a number of chilled distributors that
serve our foodservice customers in Indonesia.

Our commitment to the community
Anlene bone scans
Fonterra Brands Indonesia has worked on numerous projects to generate awareness and prevention of osteoporosis by collaborating with the Indonesian Osteoporosis Association (PEROSI) since 2000.

To date, Anlene has conducted more than two million bone scans in Indonesia and the information gathered has assisted the Indonesian Department of Health in its evaluation of the state of bone health across
the country.

Anlene is also a significant contributor to World Osteoporosis Day in Indonesia which attracts thousands of people every year. Some of the mass osteoporosis awareness events include a walkathon roadshow that
reached 23 cities across Indonesia.

Anmum Learning Express
Anmum Learning Express is a national campaign to help parents know how to maximise their children’s brain development with the right nutrition and stimulation through creative play.

The campaign has been conducted in more than 11 cities in Indonesia. Anmum also works closely with key hospitals and the medical fraternity to educate mothers and families on the benefits of good nutrition.

Boneeto in School
Boneeto in School is a campaign launched by Anchor Boneeto Hi-Calcium Milk in elementary schools with the aim of supporting Indonesian kids to grow taller.

Some of the planned activities include educating kids on how to grow optimally through sports and games, as well as the importance of having calcium in their diets.

To date, Boneeto in School has reached more than one million kids in Indonesia.
